3 Keys to Shed the Dragon Woman Armor

You know how in business these days, to be a leader in sales, you have to understand both, technology and people. This can be a great position for a woman with a technical mind and a gift for communication.
But Sales has long, been a male-dominated area, and it’s often done in an adrenaline-fueled competitive way, like a boy’s club. So for a woman whose raw emotion from divorce rages sometimes she has to armor up into the fray.

But all that adrenaline takes a toll over time. Especially as she grows into maturity, life happens and the hormones change. She reaches a point where she has to give up the dragon woman fighter self and move into her wise woman leader. She goes from raging alongside the boys to advancing above them into higher leadership.

I've had my own Dragon rage rear up and almost destroy me until I understood it. When my husband left me for another woman, I was enraged and buried myself in work.  I was mentally and physically exhausted.  I was on my edge.  I became depressed and hid at home from the world. I wasn't keeping up at work.  I was at risk of losing my job and my only way of supporting myself.

What turned this around for me was when I truly identified my unique “Dragon Woman" as I now call it!  I found my best ways to tame that dragon, according to the system I've now developed.  My confidence started growing with making choices for ME, which also showed up as great results at work. I felt in control again and was no longer in fear of losing my job or my sanity.

Well, here are three things I’ve found useful to help professional women shed the dragon woman armor and embrace their wise woman self so that they become the resilient wise woman leader the company needs and become happier in her own life and healthier in her body.

1. Don't Take it Personally
In a corporate environment, it's crucial to remember that it’s not personal, it’s business. If you are confronted with a situation that seems personal, get curious. Ask specific questions to see if you can get down to the real problem and better understand the other person’s perspective.

2. Be Selfish – In a Good Way
It's okay to prioritize yourself. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't effectively lead or support others. Delegate tasks appropriately, encourage others to step up, and ensure you have the time to focus on your well-being. Being selfish in this context means recognizing your limits and ensuring you are in a good place to contribute effectively.  It’s also an effective way to make sure other people learn from their own mistakes…or successes.

3. Create a Positive Support System
Surround yourself with positive influences and mentors. Find people you admire and learn from them.  Notice how they react to various situations and see how you can use the methods that feel right for you. Be a mentor yourself, which not only helps others but also keeps you aware of your behavior and growth. Avoid the negative support systems that focus on complaints and negativity.

As a Wise Woman Leader, it's vital to maintain your well-being amidst corporate challenges.
By understanding and tending to your dragon, you can reclaim your power and lead a balanced, fulfilling life. Remember, you are not alone on this journey. Together, we can become aware of your dragon and thrive both personally and professionally.
