Catch the VIBE: Empowerment 

Empowerment is the catalyst that fuels the flames of resilience and fosters an environment where individuals are not just heard but valued, where strengths are recognized and weaknesses are viewed as opportunities for growth. Empowerment is the cornerstone of resilient leadership, creating a collective force that propels everyone toward success.

Self-empowerment begins with recognizing your intrinsic worth and acknowledging the unique strengths you bring to the table. Resilient leaders understand that empowering oneself is not a selfish act but a foundation for uplifting others. It involves cultivating a mindset of self-belief, setting boundaries, and embracing continuous growth.

Empowering others is an art that resilient leaders master. It's about creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. As a leader, recognizing and nurturing the talents of your team members is key to unlocking their full potential. For us over-nurturing leaders, I’ve also called empowerment letting go in love.  This is a great opportunity to let others grow even when It’s painful to watch.  It also gives you more space to focus on the things you want to accomplish.  

I learned a valuable lesson during my divorce, which was a challenging time for me. I was studying, had deadlines at work, and my parents needed emotional support as they were going through some financial difficulties. However, due to my habit of over-nurturing, nobody knew the internal struggles I was facing. One day, I decided to stop this and focus on healing myself. I created a great opportunity for myself by moving to Tennessee to work for the same company. This allowed me to physically distance myself from stressful situations and concentrate on myself. It was a wonderful experience for everyone to be empowered to grow in their own special way.  I even moved back home a year later with all of the lessons I’d learned from my year of healing in Tennessee.

Now, I understand that moving away is not feasible for everyone, but one way to remove yourself from a situation is by empowering others to heal themselves in their way while you focus on empowering yourself. No one is perfect and it may be painful to watch. And, by creating a team where everyone uses their strengths to achieve success for the greater good, we can all benefit.
